Aston Poipu Kai Kauai
The Poipu resort strip is home to this plantation-style condominium located in South Kauai; Poipu Beach lies to the west, and Shipwreck Beach is to the east. There's plenty of room to splash, as the Aston offers six pools on site, and two beaches are a quarter-mile away; tropical gardens are also plentiful. Cooled via ceiling fans, accommodations offer lanais with views of the tropical grounds. Condos also have living rooms, full kitchens, washers, and dryers.
More like a tranquil residential community than a busy resort, this place is ideal for a restful getaway. Privacy is ensured by the spaciousness of the grounds surrounding the low, wooden, plantation-style buildings. A half-mile path following a greenbelt through the 315-unit resort leads to two beaches. To the west is famed Poipu Beach, considered one of the best beaches in the United States. The S-shaped beach's lower loop is protected by a man-made reef, so the water is calm. The upper loop offers surfing/boogie boarding. In between, there's great snorkeling among lava rocks around a small sand inlet. To the east is Shipwreck Beach for surfing and beach walking.
Six pools are scattered throughout the resort, each with barbecue grills for the guests' use. There are also two hot tubs. Beach paraphernalia and videotapes can also be rented from the lobby activity desk.
This condominium resort offers 315 large and light-filled units in low-rise buildings. All include large furnished lanais or patios with views of the resort's tropical grounds. Unit decor varies, but most include rattan furnishings and Hawaiian-print fabrics. Full kitchens, washer/dryers, and separate living areas are included. Though they are not air conditioned, the units contain ceiling fans and have many windows for cross-ventilation.
One Bedroom:

One king bed or one queen bed plus a queen sofa bed, full sofa bed, or two futon beds. Large furnished patio or lanai with garden view. 900-square-foot suite includes full kitchen, washer/dryer, separate sitting area with VCR and CD player. Most suites have rattan furnishings, soft colors, and Hawaiian-print fabrics. Ceiling fans and numerous windows for cross-ventilation. No air conditioning.
Two Bedroom:
Garden View & Partial Ocean View
One king or queen bed in master bedroom,
two double or two twin beds in second bedroom, and queen sofa bed, full-size
sofa bed, or two futon beds in separate living area. Large furnished patio or
lanai. 1,114 square feet. May have rattan furnishings, soft colors, and
Hawaiian-print fabrics. Full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, oven,
dishwasher, coffeemaker, cookware, dinnerware, and utensils. Washer/dryer. Two
bathrooms. Cable TV. VCR and CD player. Voice mail. Ceiling fans and many
windows for cross-ventilation. No air conditioning. Hair dryer. Iron/ironing
board.
