ResortQuest Maui Banyan

The ResortQuest Maui Banyan is a relaxing getaway in sunny Kihei, located just across the street from the popular Kamaole Beach Park II. Kamaole Shopping Center is within walking distance and offers many shops and restaurants. It's only ten minutes away from the Kahului Airport making this hotel an ideal lodging choice for those staying in the area.

Kihei Town, a peaceful (20 mph limit) community arrayed along the ocean, provides shopping, dining, and nightlife opportunities. A mile from the resort is a shopping center with a 24-hour supermarket. Parking is complimentary.

The 256 condominium units are located in two- to five-story flat-roofed buildings. Rooms have light-colored furniture and colorful cushions for a tropical-island ambience.

The largest of three public-park beaches and the only one with off-street parking, Kamaole III, lies a few minutes' drive from the resort. Like all beaches in South Maui, it's uncrowded. There's also good snorkeling among rocks and coral. To the delight of snorkeling and scuba-diving enthusiasts, the tiny island of Molokini, renowned for the clarity of its surrounding water, is not far offshore, and excursions are easy to arrange through the resort's activities desk.

Large and beautiful, Keawakapu Beach begins in front of the Mana Kai Resort a few minutes' drive from ResortQuest at the Maui Banyan. Next to the Mana Kai is a public parking lot. Signs point the way to the beach, which offers great snorkeling along its rocky northern terminus, terrific boogie boarding when the tradewinds blow, and long, tropical-fantasy walks.

Numerous dining opportunities exist along South Maui's Sun Coast. Restaurants favored by locals and visitors alike include: Five Palms Beach Grill - Located a few minutes' drive from ResortQuest at the Maui Banyan in the Mana Kai Resort, this restaurant consistently earns acclaim for its food and romantic oceanside setting. Brunch is served from 8 AM to 2:30 PM daily on the shaded outside terrace. Linen-service dinner takes place inside under ceiling fans in a plantation-type setting. Both feature local ingredients prepared with award-winning finesse. Joe's Bar and Grill - Located in the Wailea Tennis Center, a 10-minute drive south of ResortQuest at the Maui Banyan, Joe's is owned by former Kingston Trio member Joe Gannon and his chef-wife Beverly.

The resort contains a tennis court and a putting green. Many other recreational opportunities exist in South Maui. The activities desk in the lobby arranges these.

There are some 17 golf courses in South and West Maui, including four resort courses and one public course within five miles of ResortQuest at the Maui Banyan. The activities desk makes reservations at them all. Golf clubs can be rented.

Also through the activities desk, the following beach gear can be rented: boogie boards, body boards, surfboards, boards with masks for viewing under-water life, snorkel sets, chairs, umbrellas, children's sand toys. Snorkeling and scuba-diving trips to the island of Molokini off South Maui can be booked through the activities desk.
